2019 LA SPORTIVA TIGER & LEOPARD TRAIL RUN PROSPECTUS

Goal:

In order to promote exercise and to let more people to get to know to the beauty of mountain trails in Taiwan and to discover the various mountain views, there will be challenges to different trails in order to increase the enjoyment of running. The most beautiful back garden in Taipei – Shuangxi mountain area, it keeps the most original mountain looks with no over-development and human destruction. The various mountain looks and the clear river stream, over 80% of off-road route is combined with historic trail and mountain trail, definitely worth your while to experience the charm of the trail run.

After three times of activity, the number of the participants has increased from 300 to almost 700. This event will be the fourth time. The brochure will be printed in both Chinese and English. This event will be promoted on the international trail run platform to welcome worldwide and the local runners to participate and to let more people to be impressed by the beauty of the historic trail in Shuangxi mountain area.

Note:

  1. Because trail run path is narrow, in order to prevent accidents happening from over-crowded, runners will start the race by groups. Each group need to follow the starting time. Runners who start early or delayed which cause the timing chip not working will be considered not complete the course and will not be issued the certificate and will be removed from the rank.
  2. For runners’ safety, runners who’s under the age of 16 will need parent’s company and also sign the declaration of approval. If the declaration is not provided, the organiser has the right not to accept the registration. Please download the declaration and fax to 02-85021603.
  3. In order to promote the environmental-friendly, paper cups will not be provided at the aid stations. Please bring the personal hydration reservoir or water bottle.
  4. In order not to cause the damage to the eco environment, all aid stations are set up alongside the driveways (every 6 to 7 km). Because the distance between each aid stations is far, participants are required to bring personal hydration reservoir backpack (fanny pack) or sport backpack. Please prepare more than 1000 cc of water and simple supply. Please check the supply before set off. If the participants will be disqualified if violate the regulation with no dispute.
  5. Because the course is in the remote area, please set off earlier as possible or stay for the night before the event or take the shuttle bus to the gathering location.

  2. Registration period: starts from now until March 1 to May 17. Registration will be closed when it meets the maxim participants.
  3. Registration fee:

Guardian group (35 km): 1,800 NTD (timing chip deposit 100 NTD is excluded)

Elite group (25 km): 1,500 NTD (timing chip deposit 100 NTD is excluded)

Experience group (13 km): 1,300 NTD (timing chip deposit 100 NTD is excluded)

  1. Payment - please pay on 7-11 I-bon
  2. After the registration is completed, registration fee can be refunded before May 1st, but 200 NTD will be deducted as handling fee. After May 1st, no further changes or modifications shall be permitted such as the race event, runner’s name, t-shirt size, etc....
  3. If there’s natural disaster happens before the event, the event will be postponed for participants’ safety. If participants cannot meet the new schedule, registration fee will not be refunded.

Check in by postal service. The event organiser will mail the race package by postal service. The procedure of checking in is completed once the participants receive the parcel. No need to check in on site on the event day.

To award the finishers with the best record:

Top 3 finishers will be awarded for a group of 50 people. One extra finisher will be added if there’s one more 50 runners. Top 10 finishers will be awarded at most.

Special notice:

  1. Because trail run paths are narrow, in order to prevent accidents happening from over-crowded, runners will start by groups. Each group need to follow the starting time. Runners who start early or delayed which cause the timing chip not working will be considered not complete the course and will not be issued the certificate and will be removed from the rank. Certificate and souvenirs will still be issued.
  2. Finishers who don’t get the token at the finishing point will be considered not complete the course and will not be issued the certificate and will be removed from the rank. Certificate and souvenirs will still be issued.
  3. Switching timing chip is not allowed. Wearing another’s timing chip or more than one timing chip are forbidden. Runners who violate the regulation will be forfeited from the race.
  4. This race is timed by the timing chip. Please follow the instructions to attach the timing chip on the pointed location. The deposit 100 NTD will be refunded when returning the chip after the race.
  5. Please keep the bib in a safe place, no extra bib will be issued if it’s lost. Participants who lost the bib will be forfeited from the race.
  6. If the race result cannot be printed out because of the weather or computer error, the result will be mailed by postal service within two weeks.
  7. This race is challenging, please assess health condition and sign up with discretion. If there is any health condition on the event day, please take a break or stop racing.
  8. All Participants must be in good health to register for the race events. Do not register if there are health concerns. The organizers will not be held responsible for persons concealing such conditions.
  9. All runners are provided public incident insurance with the amount of three million.
  10. The organizers will take into consideration all factors such as typhoons and other possible natural disasters for ensuring the safety of all participants. If the race is cancelled due to safety reasons, participants do not have the right to protest such a decision. If participants cannot meet the new schedule, registration fee will not be refunded.
  11. Participants cannot take any medicines, stimulant or alcohol. If found by the organiser, the right of participation will be cancelled.
  12. If the participants seem not suitable for the race, the organiser has the right to cancel the right of participation.
  13. Interfering with other runners is not allowed and will be forfeited from the race.
  14. The organiser reserve the right to publish or broadcast any video, photographs or other types of materials recorded at this event for the purpose of reporting and promoting its activities.
  15. Because the course is narrow, in order to keep the course unhindered, runners are forbidden to run side by side. Please stay on the right side. Save space on the left side for the faster runner to cut off. For the runner who is going to cut off, please say “cutting off on the left side” first to avoid running into another runner.

Disputes:

a) Competition disputes: during the race competition, competitors may not dispute the referees and officials.

(b) Dispute procedure: any dispute concerning the competition should be brought to the organisers attention within ten minutes after finishing the race and at the same time a deposit of 1,000 NTD must be submitted. If the judges of the

review committee concludes that the dispute is not justified, then the 1,000 NTD deposit shall not be returned.

Violations:

  1. Runners cannot receive assistance from another person or party during the competition or not following the race course and go the short cut or take any of the transportation. Violators will be disqualified from the competition.
  2. All runners must wear bib in the front of the chest. Runners who don’t have bib, a chip time recorded at the starting mat, finishing mat or other chip time-checking points or cannot complete with time limitation will be removed from the rank. In order to maintain the course quality, the organiser has the right to segregate the runner who is not wearing bib while racing.
  3. The judge will collect the timing chip from the runners who give up during the competion and the deposit will be returned on spot with no dispute.
  4. The organiser will execute the ending time. For runners who cannot finish the race within the limited time will be taken in by the organiser. The judge will collect the timing chip and return the deposit on spot with no dispute.
